what's on the menu?

we've been spoiled with a week of incredible dinners...first toad in the hole...and now this....


the lobster arrived this morning at about 9am...still alive from nova scotia...courtesy of mum and dad. i didn't know what to do with them when it arrived so i put the whole box in the fridge. that seemed to work bc the little buggers were still moving when we popped them in the boiling water this evening.

....and they were yummy....thanks mum and dad!!

wonder what will have tomorrow night...maybe grilled cheese sandwiches.

RIP Frankie Manning

frankie manning...the grandfather of lindyhop and the inventor of the very first arial move at the savoy ballroom, died early this morning, just a month shy of his big 95th birthday bash. he was a huge inspiration to all lindyhoppers including myself and will be sadly missed

the ani kyd blues experience

tonight ani was playing with her new band at chopper's dinner. they have a blues jam every sunday night now. it had a pretty good turn out for a cold and rainy sunday, partly b/c of a nice little blurb and pic in the georgia straight.

yesterday night was wade and danielle's annual birthday bash at boneta. this year was a big one for wade....big 4 0!! way to go wade!

what's in a dream...?

the other night i had a dream....or a nightmare...not sure which.

i've been off work for almost 2 weeks and i'm still having stress dreams about it. in this one i dreamt that i went back to work because i needed to pick up dog shit! seriously...that what i dreamt!! that's gotta mean something....

happy easter!

it was a full day today starting with the easter bunny visit.

then after a great breaky of eggs and chocolate we braved the rain and headed to the antique car easter parade. i usually find easter parades pretty lame...but the idea of having a bunch of old cars ride by was a good one for sure.

a 1929 fire engine lead the parade with the easter bunny. apparently new westminster used this truck up until 1960... unbelievable!!

before the parade started we entertained ourselves drinking our london fog lattes and watching cars being towed off of columbia st. it looks like someone messed up and didn't put up the event signs. they were hauling away car ofter car. not sure there allowed to do that....hmmm....

later in the day we went on a nice walk by city hall and fed the ducks and squirrels then headed home for an awesome lamb dinner :):)

after a short hiatus....

...i'm back!

life had just gotten too busy the last while with the move an' all. but i'm unpacked...sort of. hopefully i'll get back on track now.

last night we celebrated st patty's day with a guinness at the local. jason wore his kelly's beer and brawn tshirt i bought him. thought it was appropriate since his last name is kelly.


here are my new glasses....yes i said glasses....i'm officially old ;)

more hazards on the Coquihalla

for the last few days jason’s been fixing his car. he took 3 days holiday time and is held up in his friend Jim's garage putting a new transmission in...among other things. the poor old thing got hit by something that put a big hole in it when he was on the Coquihalla sunday.

another mishap this last weekend. his door handle froze then snapped off in britten creek. next thing on the list to fix

everyone should get a holiday...

did you know that it’s family day today in alberta, ontario and saskatchewan? it’s also presidents day down in the US. what about the rest of us poor slobs? we should get a holiday too.

oh well...i’m off sick today anyway...i can’t believe how sick i am...flu i guess...not fun and worrisome since i really need to be getting ready for my move.

some good news to report today....we're doing a season 5...and the studio's not moving!! so that means when i move to jason's i'll be doing a 5 min commute for at least a year!! good news indeed.

ok..i'm gonna put another ice pack on my head...it actually helps.
