i think this was done a couple of years ago...but it's new to me and i thought i'd share....
graffiti artist, alexandre orin decided to create without paint...to create by cleaning away the years pollution and soot from the inside of a tunnel in sao paulo.
police thought what he was doing must be illegal some how....and even though it isn’t illegal to clean they still destroyed the piece in the end....
this video just says so much to me....about our society right now.

my rant
i’ve been craigs listing, ebaying and facebook market placing like crazy the last few days.....trying to downsize in preparation for my move and make a few bucks in the mean time.
life’s looking up really. ok my tongue is firmly planted in my cheek when i wrote that....
since i have no job and no idea when i may have one again....and as a consequence...no money. at least i know i’ll see some at the end of february. no boyfriend and not even sure if any prospects are on the horizon ( ok...maybe one of two ;)....and now my back is injured. long story...well...maybe not so long a story of (my) stupidity that i’m not going to tell right now. anyway it feels a bit better now i’ve had a massage. hopefully i’ll be dancing again soon.
life's just freakin’ peachy!!!
i keep telling myself it's all a blessing in disguise....a really really good disguise.

grandpa's letter from the queen. it was already in the mail friday so he got his letter...even though he didn't make it. for those of you who don't know....grandpa died on saturday...3 days shy of 100...poor guy. but he got his letter and he got his party....almost like he planned it....

the party went until from 2:30pm- 9:30pm....it was only suppose to go until 5:30 but the irish side of the family would have non of that. si, peter, kyla, alex, kat and i had bets on when it would be over. peter thought he had won at 9:15pm....but the group stood dead stop in the doorway coats on.... continued talking. i think kyla took it with 9:45pm.

happy 100th birthday grandpa!!
i'm off to london tomorrow to visit london and brighton for grandpa's 100th!
not sure if i will bring my computer...it's such a short trip and i'm trying to pack lots in. might go threw some withdraw symptoms......what no facebook! no blog! OMG!!
ok...enough. plans for the trip include looking at galleries with katharina....seeing mum, peter, simon...not sure who else....grandpa's birthday party...and a visit to sotheby's london to visit my lovely painting!! :)

spending a few hours....
in and amongst getting ready for england, icbc, doctor and banking appointments i managed to keep and appointment i had made a while ago and something i've been planning for almost two years. i thought what the hell...i have the time right now (sorta)...even if i don’t have the money....and this guys is good...he has a waiting list!
so this is what i spend a few hours getting done today....
here's jory at funhouse tattoo doing his magic....almost no pain! i said ALMOST...;)
it read from top to bottom..... whinifred, oonagh, jojo & tessah-rose in japanses, hiragana. eventually a rose will go where the gap is by the knee
i think i looks great! better than imagined. here's a close up of the bottom half...

xmas is over....it's birthday time now...
another birthday...this time my friend michelle's. we celebrated last night with all you can eat sushi at tampopoo....was a fun night. a few people i know...some i didn’t...got to make some new friends i think.
and then we had cake...you gotta have cake
oh...that reminds me...i have left over cake in the fridge!!
today i had a low key day. had to go see vicky for my massage..it was pretty intense b/c of the car accident so it pretty much wiped me out for the day. i’m sure i’ll be feeling much better in a day or two....i hope.
since i was too tired to go out tonight i decided at take down my xmas tree (i know it's late) replacing it with my shepard fairey print that i finally managed to frame at opus. i really wanted to put the new faile piece there....but i can’t afford to frame it the way i want...so it will have to wait ‘till either the strike is over or after the auction.

element verses sunfire. element 10...sunfire 0
i was rear ended today....again.
not sure why but every 3-7 years or so the universe throws a car at me.
today it was a sunfire. i was going up victoria in traffic today when the woman in front of me stopped...i stopped....the crazy woman behind me....well....she didn’t stop. went flying into he back of me......fuck. i thought...not again. my forth time being rear ended. i heard the familiar crash and the force pushed my car...almost into the person in front. luckily i had left enough space that didn’t happen. charlie...also luckily...was in her bag so she was safe...scared but safe.
i grabbed charlie got out to investigate expecting to see a smashed in rear end. i was shocked to see no damage what so ever to my car!.....lots o’ damage to the sunfire. wow.
i went home in a little shock...a little tingly. had a hot bath in epson salts and hoping i don’t wake up tomorrow with whip lash again. just in case i will go see the doctor, message therapist and chiro.....
gotta say....i wasn’t sure if i like my element....until now. now i think it’s a good car! :)

easy saturday
fairly low key saturday today. did errands, cleaned then met up with garn for sorta of a new year's coffee...it was see nice to see him again. i have a few people i didn’t manage to get together with this holiday season....and he was one of them. still have a few more to go....
this evening i went for a bit of dancing at the legion....not many people out since there’s a big blues thing i seattle this weekend. it was still good to get out there again after too much holiday cheer.

what now?
ok...it’s a new year. whooow hooo! i was fed up with last year anyway. although...i am still single and now seem to be unemployed....so soon i’ll be single and broke! right on!! ;)
oh well...this year should be full of new beginnings. a little nervous about it....but excited.
janurary....grandpa’s 100th birthday in england. tried to book it today but had some technical difficulties...hopefully tomorrow.
february...hopefully i go back to england for the sotheby's auction...if i can afford it.
march....portland lindy exchange...maybe my last visit to portland for awhile.
april....who knows...most likely back to the big TO! maybe somewhere else....most likely toronto and start my new business...details TBA....
before that i have some major downsizing to do. so i’ll be hitting craigs list...ebay and all the second hand stores in town.

new years day....08
tired and a little hung over today. had a nice tea and pancake brunch/dinner with the kyds....now i'm just gonna chill and watch a movie.
