procured myself a turkey.

so i wasn’t having any success getting an in town xmas dinner invite. so i decided to take matters into my own hands. i sent a general invite out on facebook...said i’d be willing to cook he darn turkey. people messaged me saying they’d like to come.

so....i went out today...got myself a turkey. actually found a nice small free range bird at a butcher i’d never been to....rio friendly meats.... on hastings. they’re awesome........and friendly. like the name says. :)

now i’m gonna have to cook the darn thing. eeekkkk......

i’m excited!!

happy birthday weekend for rob...

and lots of other stuff....

what a busy weekend.....xmas parties....birthdays...friends staying on top of getting ready for that indie i’m doing next week...eeekkkk

well, it was well worth it....

it all started thursday with another 80’s dance night at the luv-a-fair reunion ....i danced the night away with a few friends.

still walker on the dance floor at the luv-a-fair reunioun..

then friday it was robs birthday so i took him and ani for dinner at salt. i swore after that last time i’’d never go again.....but what the hey...the birthday boy wanted to go. i’m actually glad i gave it another chance. this time we had great service and food....so it’s off my list of “never again” restaurants.

ani, rob and i had an amazing dinner at salt....

afterwards we had a lovely dessert at cheesecake etc....a place ani worked 20years ago. then ani and rob headed off to poster for the big birthday bash the next day and i headed to meet brenda, my friend from seattle at Jim's xmas blues party. what a long night. brenda crashed at my place before heading back south oh the border.

saturday another crazy day and night. day i was prepping for 11th spice, the indie i’m doing.....night was rob birthday bash at the cobalt. wow....i forgot what a dive the cobalt is!! hehehe

dude......what's on your head??

it was fun never the less.....and i have to say i was totally blown away by ani’s solo performance. i’ve always known she was talented. i’ve heard her cd and i can just tell by the respect fellow musicians give her that she’s a force. but still live....with no back up....wow.... she’s one with that guitar ....you don’t need a band when you play like that! and her voice.......simply amazing. :):)

rebacca and i looking hot at the cobalt...

ani freakin' rocks....

michael...ani's son...playing his set at the cobalt...

divorce toast

sean and i have been trying to get together for a divorce toast for a few months now...his idea. he got a nice organic sparkling wine from italy called “proseccco” from villa teresa. very nice...and apparently reasonably priced. afterwards we threw the champagne glasses (a wedding present) off the roof of my building...also sean's idea. hopefully no one noticed...you can get fined for that. oh well...it was fun. probably worth the risk.

charlie met kimba and daisy for the first time and wasn’t too sure of what to make of them. maybe b/c she’s smaller than kimba’s head. although....i think kimba was more scared of her.

:)

auction results in...

not quite as crazy as the hype on the faile board....but still pretty darn good.

Faile Lot 1: 25,700GBP

Faile Lot 2: 41,300 GBP

lot 1 is a piece smaller than mine...and in my opinion not as nice. lot 2 was a choice piece and bigger. i think mine will get in between the two...here's hoping anyway.

a xmas card from sotheby's

today i got a christmas card from sotheby's london...along with a few other christmas cards. it's nice getting mail that's not a bill for a change and getting one from sotheby's isn't something i would have expected any christmas until now.

tomorrow 2 failes are going up for auction at sotheby's london and i'll be watching online...with great interest. the chat on the faile board has been pretty positive. some people are speculating one piece to go for as much as 60,000 pounds....we shall see. tomorrow.

odd nickel

the first monday of my hiatus. feeling a little down....cleaned my apartment. ani called she had to put her cat down today and was sad....so we went for a little doggie walk and tea.

we were chatting about a show on A&E about paranormal events then we talked about tessah. ani was telling me about her near death experience at age 5.....as well as an operation she had the same year. she made a comment....“yeah...age 5 was a bad age for me”. i look down and see a nickel on the floor. i pick it up make a wish and give it to ani. she looks at it and says...hey it’s a 1965 nickel...isn’t that the year you were born?

weird....

beautiful mole, dancing and lots of ham don't forget the cheese:)

last night i had a gorgeous meal with anne at a relatively new place in gastown called cobre.

we were actually trying to go to the irish heather but it was an hour wait so the waiter recommended cobre and i’m so glad he did. reminded me allot of a place i go to in portland taqueria nueve. neuveu latin cuisine ....i think the menu is actually better than nueve....there were many things i would like to go back and try. the guy next to me had an awesome looking desert i will try next time.

we had a duck mole that was to die for and makes me smile.... service was also highly recommended.

anne's relaxed at cobre

check ot out here....
http://cobrerestaurant.com/main.html

after than anne and i headed out to the yale for a little blues dancing to a portland band the insomniacs not too many leads to dance with....but a great time never the less.

i had promised my buddy doug i’d go to the canned ham xmas special were his band the nervious breakdowns were playing...so after the yale i high tailed it over there. got there a little late missed their band completly...but i did manage to catch the wet spots one song and canned ham.

nice legs......

these guys are insane....

they were kidding about the ham but they should have called it “extra ham and extra cheese”........too crazy to even explain here. i laughed allot. last time i laughed when watching a band...not sure?! it was great.......:):)

what xmas special is complete w/out a candy cane dual

doug and andrew join canned ham and LBJ (little baby jesus) on stage for a “do they know it’s Christmas” finale. they kept inviting people on stage ‘till there were about 3 people in the audience.

the hard rock miners gave it last night. aaron even had his musical saw out.....

one day to go....

on day left of work! until the strikes over i guess....

that's a reason to smile!! :):)

i saw this full double rainbow today at work. amazing....i think it's a good omen.

here she is....

and she’s gorgeous....

i picked this up on ebay the other day. it's my "replacement" faile. an original print..meaning it's a hand finished print...limited edition and all are slightly different. it looks way more impressive in real life. have to figure out how i want to frame it now.

here's another print i picked up....it's not original or signed...but stunning never the less....

sorry my blogging's been a little lame of late. busy and tired...that's my excuse. next wednesday is most likely my last day till after the strike so you might get a bit more out of me then.

long weekend wraps up......

busy weekend. i did some fitting for the show i’m volunteering on. it all went well and they seemed happy. it was pretty fun actually....which is nice...b/c i rarely have fun at my job. showed me that i enjoy calling the shots and feel pretty confident about the whole thing.

aaron rocks it at the commodore....

last night i went with anne to see the townpants at the commodore.....what a great gig. the opening band run gmc were pretty awesome too. anne and i danced the whole time. rebecca was suppose to come with us but she was too upset. she had just moved out of her boy friends place.....hopefully we can have a girls night together another time.

townpants, run gmc and swank do an SNL ending to there show. cheezy but good...

one way to look at the world...

you'll be sick of faile soon....

....if you aren't already. ;)

today i received this in an email from sotheby's....

"The department also said that as they are so thrilled to have your work included in their sale, they would like to demonstrate their enthusiasm by waiving the illustration fee which is typically £500 GBP for a full color page."

they are giving me a fee add in their cataloge.....go figure.

:):)

my gal is off to london....

there she goes.

i packed her up last night and today took her down to be crated, then shipped to london. her big day isn’t ‘till mid feburary ....but they have to take pictures and do research for the write up in the catalogue.

one thing i have to say....sotheby’s is one of the most professional companies i have ever dealt with. i am small potatoes compared to much of the work they sell....yet they made me feel like i was the most important person in their day. i didn’t have to do anything. they arranged every step for me. it was amazing. yesterday they gave a shipping and insurance quote...and i won’t lie...it was high. i was a little worried about footing the bill considering the writers strike and all. anyway...this morning i get an email for them offering to front the bill for shipping. they just take the cost off the top of my sale. no interest, nothing. i would have put it on my visa and accumulated 3months interest....but now i don’t have to!

i feel like the gods are smiling on me.....on this aspect of my life anyway. there is another aspect....well......let's talk about that another day ;)

it was rebecca’s birthday yesterday and since i didn’t go down to seattle and was feeling a little better, i headed down to the eatery to join the group.

it was a fun night...despite the fact that i’m pretty sure i was the oldest person in the place....

cool light fixture made of plastic toys...

michelle digs into her deep fried mars bar....decadent!

it was also gloria's brithday yesterday...no pics b/c she's in TO. sounds like she had a nice day with tom and the twins....happy birthday gloria.

if i fell....

i had this beatles song in my head all day......

If I fell in love with you would you promise to be true,
And help me understand?
‘Cos I’ve been in love before, and I found that love was more,
Than just holding hands,
If I give my heart to you,
I must be sure from the very start,
That you would love me more than her.
If I trust in you, of please,
Don’t run and hide,
If I love you too, oh please don’t hurt my pride like her.
‘Cos I couldn’t stand the pain,
And I would be sad if our new love was in vain.
So I hope you see,
That I would love to love you,
And that she will cry when she learns we are two.
‘Cos I couldn’t stand the pain,
And I would be sad if our new love was in vain.
So I hope you see,
That I would love to love you,
And that she will cry when she learns we are two.
If I fell in love with you.

time to sell....

so sutheby’s london wrote me a nice email. they are having a contemporary art auction mid February and have invited me to put my faile in it! pretty damn exciting!!!....and kinda surreal....

they estimated the value at 12,000-18,000 sterling!! nice. it could fetch alot more.....which would be awesome.

i may be needing the money b/c it looks like the writers union voted to strike. not sure what it means for our show yet. we have scripts 'till dec 4th...so hopefully it's not too bad.

RIP papa G

gunther....kimba and daisy’s dad died last night...he was 15. a good age for a big doggie.

even though i never knew him....that pup touched my life.

if it wasn’t for good old gunther...kimba and daisy wouldn’t be on the earth which i am truly thankful for. kimba walked into sean and my lives at a time when we really really needed him and i’m very thankful for that.

another great thing about gunther is he had a hand creating my friendship with ani. one of the reasons i ended up talking to ani on the phone the first time is because she saw kimba and daisy’s pictures on my myspace page and wanted to figure out if they were his puppies....so she sent me her phone number. i remember the message.....

“holy shit dude...i think you dogs are my dogs puppies! (not the chihuahua’s....HAHAHA) call me.....”

if she hadn’t have seen the pictures we may never have talked on the phone and become friends.

:)
